When can I roll my windows down after tint?

Short answer

Keep your windows rolled up for 2 to 5 days after tint. The exact time depends on temperature and moisture, and cooler, wetter Pacific Northwest weather can take longer. Full curing is separate and can take longer still. Some haze or small water pockets are normal while the film cures.

Why do I have to keep the windows up?

Tint is applied with a solution that has to dry out from under the film. Rolling the window down too early can catch the edge of the film and lift or crease it.

Is haze after tint normal?

Yes. Some haze or small water pockets can take a while to clear and are normal while the film cures. Full curing is separate from the 2 to 5 days of keeping the windows up.

When can I clean the inside of the windows?

Wait about a week before cleaning the inside glass. See How do you clean tinted windows?

Frequently asked questions

Why does it take longer in Seattle?
Cooler, wetter weather slows the drying, so Pacific Northwest drivers may need to keep windows up toward the longer end.
What if I see small bubbles of water?
Small water pockets are normal while tint cures and usually clear on their own over time.
