How long does window tint take?
Short answer
Window tint takes one to four hours in the shop, depending on how many windows. Two to Match is usually an hour or two. A full Large Tint on an SUV takes the longest. Removing old tint adds time.
Quick facts
| Typical time | One to four hours |
|---|---|
| Two to Match | Usually an hour or two |
| Longest | Large Tint on an SUV |
| Adds time | Removing old tint |
Why does it vary?
More windows mean more film to fit. Two front windows go quickly. Six side windows plus back glass on a large SUV take longer.
Does old tint add time?
Yes. Old film and its adhesive have to come off before new tint goes on. The older and cheaper the tint, the longer it takes. See Can you remove old, purple or bubbling tint?
What happens after I pick the car up?
Keep the windows rolled up for 2 to 5 days. See When can I roll my windows down after tint?
How APC Auto Spa does it
