Can you tint a windshield in Washington?
Short answer
Full windshield tint is not legal in Washington. A tint strip across the top of the windshield is allowed. The strip is cut around the windshield cameras using pre-cut software templates, so cameras and sensors aren't covered.

What does a windshield strip do?
A strip across the top of the windshield helps with low sun in your eyes, which Seattle drivers know well on fall and winter commutes.
What about my car's windshield cameras?
Many cars have cameras and sensors near the top of the windshield. The strip is cut around them using pre-cut software templates, so they aren't covered. See Does tint interfere with cameras, sensors or phone signal?
What if I want to protect the windshield from chips?
That's a different product: clear windshield protection film. See our sister site's answer on windshield protection film.
How APC Auto Spa does it
